Yard Driver/Switcher

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 10 am to finish (8–10 average hours).

Pay

$22.50 per hour plus incentive per trailer move.

About the role

The Yard Driver moves tractor trailers to and from loading docks, parks loaded or empty trailers in designated areas, and transports trailers to off-site maintenance or inspection facilities. All driving must comply with Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; report any safety issues or required repairs.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving guidelines; report safety hazards immediately.
• Safely move trailers to and from loading docks and designated parking areas.
• Handle and return paperwork related to off-site maintenance or inspection visits.
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured at all times.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading-dock area, and trailers as required.
• At shift end, secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 6 months of tractor-trailer experience
• Valid CDL A
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one
