Yard Driver- First Shift

About the role

The First Shift Yard Driver operates A class trucks between the plant, distribution center, and suppliers in the greater Cincinnati area. Responsibilities include using yard tractors to move trailers, communicating with production lines and warehouse staff, performing material handling duties, scanning materials into SAP, checking in third-party drivers, and transporting loads to and from the distribution center and packaging component suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Operate A class trucks in between the plant, distribution center and suppliers in the greater Cincinnati area.
• Utilize forklifts and support the loading and unloading of trucks.
• Communicate with production lines, warehouse, truck drivers, team leaders, and supervisors to ensure correct trailers are staged in appropriate dock doors or locations.
• Perform material handler duties in time between trailer movements.
• Utilize RF Scanner to scan materials and movements into SAP.
• Check in third-party drivers.
• Pull loads to and from DC (West Chester, OH) and packaging component suppliers as needed.
• Keep vehicles clean, perform safety inspections, transport vehicles to and from the shop, and other duties assigned by Valvoline leadership from time to time in its sole discretion.
• Safety training (computer-based, ride-along trips with driver team).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience driving box trucks, and/or single axle tractor trailers.
• Maintain a Class A CDL with tanker, air breaks, and hazmat endorsements.
• Able to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs infrequently.
• Strong work history and commitment to safety.
• Positive attitude, team player.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
