Yard Driver (1st Shift Seasonal)

The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of trailers as well as the safe operation of all powered equipment within the Service Center. Duties include safely and accurately backing, pull spotting, and shifting tractor-trailer rigs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard truck, pallet truck, order picker, and any other machines as needed.
• Maneuver equipment in and around tight corners, through staging areas, and around pedestrian traffic in a safe manner.
• Connect/disconnect trailer/container, operate trailer landing gear, and open trailer doors.
• Operate air-over hydraulic fifth-wheel front trailer support system.
• Ensure all assigned equipment is fully operational at beginning of shift which includes checking for damage and reporting all damages or malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, write, operate RF device, conduct business related mathematics, and analyze data as required.
• Bring problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL.
• Applicants must be 18 or older, have a positive attitude, be open to learning, work well with others and have the willingness to prioritize customer needs.
• Required to stand (stationary position) during scheduled hours. Hours usually include weekends, evenings, and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods.
• Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling, and moving weights of 5 - 50 pounds constantly and 50-100 lbs frequently.
• Ability to move 50-100 lbs at least 25 feet in distance.
• Based on business necessity associates may be temporarily required to work in other locations that require different physical demands.
• Qualified candidates will be able to stand, walk, and lift weighted boxes. Must meet vision requirements and other physical demands with labor regulations.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Pay

Base rate paid bi-weekly: $27.59 per hour.
