About the role
This position is responsible for the operation of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment and maintenance of the yard/lot at our Wyandanch, NY location.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload equipment and vehicles plus check for any damage.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the building, yard, and equipment.
- Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards.
- Detail and clean trucks to prepare them for shipping/delivery.
- Quickly and safely evaluate and identify the needed materials, tooling, and steps necessary to finish tasks.
- Monitor inventory in yard and oversee incoming/outgoing vehicles.
- Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of utility and/or railroad vehicles and familiarity with operating systems including booms, buckets, diggers, cable reels, hyrail, and track vehicles.
- Proven commitment to safety.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands
- Work is performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.
- Lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout an 8-12 hour day.
