Yard Associate - Conroe

About the role

This position performs an array of functions including reviewing order documents to prepare for accurate product pulling for customers. Daily expectations are 70% driving a forklift for loading/unloading trailers and 30% manually sorting and staging material in the yard. The role also involves safely using a forklift and maintaining yard stock in a clean and organized manner.

Responsibilities

• Review order documents to prepare for accurate product pulling for customers
• Drive forklift for loading and unloading trailers (70% of daily tasks)
• Manually sort and stage material in the yard (30% of daily tasks)
• Safely use a forklift
• Maintain yard stock in a clean and organized manner
• Accurately load trucks for outgoing shipments
• Receive and put away inbound material
• Complete work orders and receiving documents accurately
• Pull and prepare orders, packaging for shipment
• Rotate yard stock and safely move materials using a forklift
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Work with the team to ensure branch success and provide excellent customer service

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a warehouse/yard position
• Ability to lift/move heavy materials (up to 60 lbs) on occasion
• Forklift experience (sit-down) highly desired
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions required
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Experience with building materials is a plus
