XRAY Technologist
Albany Imaging is looking for experienced and professional licensed radiology technologists with a strong desire to cross-train in mammography, MRI, or CT. Further your career by cross-training in Mammography, MRI, or CT. Our Multi-Modality Technologist Trainees will receive hands-on training while working side-by-side with a seasoned technologist. Trainees will perform their clinical training within one of our Rezolut imaging centers Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Upon completion of training and once you have secured your State License, you will become a full-time Multi-Modality technologist with Rezolut. Rezolut will cover all tuition and other associated expenses related to mammography/MRI/CT certification. Candidates should reside within commuting distance of one or more of our outpatient imaging centers in NY State.
Requirements
- A current New York State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology and ARRT (R) certification.
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
- The passion and ability to learn new skills in advanced radiology procedures such as MRI, CT, Tomosynthesis, biopsies, and Mammographic procedures.

- Able to take appropriate action quickly and calmly in emergent situations.
Once hired, after 6+ months and with Manager approval, you will be required to:
- Complete a 40-hour initial Mammography, MRI, or CT Training Course Webinar with an additional 8 hours of training in digital (3D) mammography (Rezolut will cover your tuition).
- Pass the New York State Mammography Licensing Exam (Rezolut will cover the cost of the exam).
- Maintain no less than a 40-hour work week performing XR, MRI, CT, or Mammographic Procedures.
Responsibilities
As a Mammography Technologist you will:
- Perform high-quality digital mammography exams.
- Monitor the patient's well-being during exams and take appropriate action if you recognize any patient discomfort or medical problem.
- Guide patients through the mammogram process using the utmost care and compassion and address their questions and concerns throughout the exam procedure.
- Respond to physician needs/questions regarding patients and assist radiologists with patient procedures when necessary.
- Participate in projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
As an MRI Technologist you will:
- Operate closed and open scanners.
- Interpret physician instructions, select software options, and adjust imaging parameters when setting up an MRI machine.
- View images during exams and report anomalies to radiologists and document them.
- Properly send images to PACS and archive images; print CDs.
- Ensure comparison images are available for reading physicians.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists to determine exam protocols.
- Maintain sensitivity to physical and psychological needs of patients. Monitor and continually communicate with patients throughout the MR exam.
- Work with Center Director to document incidents that occur at the facility.
- Screen patients for any precautions or contraindications prior to them entering the magnetic field and thoroughly research all implants, devices, etc.
- Perform daily QA for each magnet; maintain patient log; enter clinical information.
- Perform injections as needed.
As a CT Technologist you will:
- Perform general CT exams in a timely and complete manner.
- Position patients and answer any questions regarding the procedure.
- Ensure the proper dose of radionuclides are administered, starting IV lines if needed.
- Monitor patient discomfort throughout the procedure.
- Review images for quality.
- Accurately document the procedure and update patient records.
- Perform injection of IV contrast/willingness to train to inject.
