Responsibilities

• Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed.
• Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
• Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
• Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Affords assistance to patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma.
• Previous Radiologic Technologist experience (preferred).
• One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers.
• Knowledgeable in analyzing and assessing data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately.
• Knowledgeable in patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility.
• Knowledgeable in communicating appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
• Knowledgeable in commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry.
• Knowledgeable in using all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Knowledgeable in reading, writing, and speaking conversational English.
• Knowledgeable in using basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable in performing patient care skills to care for Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Knowledgeable in independently performing radiographic procedures to departmental standards.
• Knowledgeable in following written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Knowledgeable in using radiology software packages such as EPIC, PACS, etc.
• Knowledgeable in maintaining responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging.
• Knowledgeable in maintaining all required continuing and annual education.
• Knowledgeable in determining appropriate technical factors.
• Knowledgeable in learning and mastering new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety.
• Knowledgeable in communicating effectively and working with people of various diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledgeable in performing adult/and child/infant CPR.
• Knowledgeable in performing radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
• Knowledgeable in determining communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians.
• Knowledgeable in performing diagnostic procedures in a manner consistent with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality.
• Knowledgeable in communicating and receiving instructions, verbally and written and carrying them out as directed.
• Knowledgeable in operating radiographic equipment and working with electrical and radiant energy.
• Knowledgeable in providing comprehensive knowledge of general radiographic procedures.
• Knowledgeable in multi-tasking efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment.
• Knowledgeable in demonstrating strong critical thinking skills.
• Knowledgeable in providing care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs to the patient population served within the department.

• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• Field Of Study N/A
• Work Experience 1+ year experience preferably in radiology or a new graduate of accredited radiologic technology program [Required]
