Essential Job Functions
- Affirm that castings are in a condition suitable for inspection.
- Verify that paperwork is complete and matches the casting.
- Establish an order ensuring all required dimensions are checked.
- Inspect castings using various measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, dyes, etc.
- Communicate inspection results by marking the casting and filling out travelers, rework travelers, and discrepancy tags.
- Safely operate all equipment and tools while adhering to safety rules and reporting any safety issues.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of inspection principles.
- Certified in all types of measuring devices.
- Strong blueprint reading and math skills.
- Ability to work closely with engineering and management.
- Capable of working various shifts and overtime.
Education And Experience
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong inspection background is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to read reports and use a computer.
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers.
- Must be able to stand to open files and operate office machines; must be mobile between departments and to attend meetings of employees and managers.
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, fingering, grasping, feeling.
- Ability to exert up to thirty-five pounds of force to move objects.
- Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
