X-Ray/ CT Technologist - PRN

About the role

The CT Tech/Radiology Tech performs radiology and CT procedures and diagnostic evaluations of patients. Responsibilities include providing clinical instruction to students, following pain management protocols, and maintaining adequate records and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT and Radiology procedures and diagnostic evaluations, applying prescribed exposure parameters based on patient age, mental, and physical status.
• Assesses patient needs relevant to CT or Radiology procedures.
• Stocks rooms with adequate supplies and maintains an orderly working area.
• Maintains records to ensure safety, proper patient care, and diagnostic quality of examinations; performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks as needed.
• Consistently uses radiation protection measures such as time, collimation, and shielding.
• Follows hospital policy regarding pain management and use of restraints for patients.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of PACS and MediTech systems.
• Provides clinical instruction to students and precepts new techs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current ARRT certification.
• Current New Mexico State license.
• AHA BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• One year of Radiology experience required.
• One year of CT Tech experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train in other modalities highly preferred.
• Computer proficiency required.
