WWP - SSES CDL Field Technician

About the role

Mckim & Creed is seeking an enthusiastic Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) CDL Field Technician for their Wet Weather Program. This position involves field data collection activities such as flow monitoring, CCTV inspections, smoke testing, utility hole inspections, dye testing, and other services as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform field investigations to collect high-quality and accurate data.
• Operate sewer cleaning and vacuum trucks to clean and remove debris from sanitary and storm sewer lines, utility holes, and lift stations.
• Conduct robotic video inspections of wastewater sewer pipelines in accordance with NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
• Record various structure attributes and identify defects during maintenance hole inspections.
• Conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered during smoke testing.
• Measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage for night flow isolations.
• Conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding for flow monitoring.
• Install and maintain open channel flow metering equipment.
• Work in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer holes.
• Review data collected in the field to ensure quality and accuracy of information.
• Plan projects to meet client requirements.
• Support hardware and software troubleshooting, repair, and testing.
• Frequent overnight travel is required.
• Work in outdoor conditions in varying terrain types and climates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CDL License Required.
• Must be able to travel.
• Willingness to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good technical skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Acceptable drug test.
• Criminal record check.

Qualifications

• At least three years of SSES experience preferred.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is preferred.
