WVSOM Part-Time Servers

About the role

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently looking for part-time, temporary servers to assist in the WVSOM Student Center and O'Cafe for small to large events as needed. This position is a temporary position with a pay of $25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested; no benefits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, serve, and cleanup catered events
• Maintain "on time" delivery schedule for catered events
• Prepare and mix ingredients as requested
• Maintain food service area and assist the Director and Assistant Director as needed
• Ensure proper storage of leftover food items
• Maintain a clean sanitary workplace in accordance with county, state, and federal regulations
• Perform related duties as assigned or as directed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of recent and related experience (combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Must obtain a WV food handler's permit

Skills

• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of individuals
• Ability to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad and diverse group of individuals
• Ability to learn and/or operate a cash register
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends

Pay

$25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested.

Job duties are performed in a standard work environment and require bending, stooping, standing, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
