Servers - Part-time

About the role

As a Server, you will courteously serve resident and guest meals, and handle clean-up and resetting of the dining room following meal service.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents when placing orders from the menu
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee/tea)
• Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
• Understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques
• Have a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
• Know proper food storage and labeling techniques
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings
• Complete all other duties assigned
• Be attentive to special needs of residents, including mobility deficits and memory impairment
• Assist with tray service
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
• Interact in a polite and considerate manner with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors

Requirements

• Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions
• Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
• Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects
• Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
• Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
