About the role
WT AmeriCorps members serve in various settings across the Texas High Plains, including community-based organizations, K-12 schools, government agencies, colleges and universities, and faith-based organizations. Service focuses on building individual and community resilience and improving access to opportunity through education, economic opportunity, health and wellness, disaster preparedness, sustainable management, and responsible resource use. Members primarily serve under-resourced and rural communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted services that will contribute to one or more of the following: enhancing or expanding organizational capacity, improving outcomes, enhancing opportunity, improving resource alignment, improving individual and community well-being, and/or building resilient ecosystems.
- All service is based on a foundation of leadership, engagement, and investment.
- Participate in larger projects and service days that focus on strengthening communities, encouraging responsibility, and expanding opportunity for residents in the Texas High Plains.
