WS - Manager, Field Installation

About the role

The Field Installation Manager (FIM) oversees delivery, field repair and service, installations, and returns for assigned projects. This role drives delivery and installation margins by maximizing internal resources and achieving key performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts business in compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety Policies.
  • Conducts periodic safety meetings and maintains safety documents and logs.
  • Maintains employee health and safety by training, observations, and regularly scheduled assessments.
  • Maintains excellent service standards, responds efficiently to customer inquiries, and strives for high customer satisfaction.
  • Provides direct and indirect managerial oversight to assigned employees.
  • Manages delivery & installation profit margin.
  • Reports and documents related to delivery and installation.
  • Coordinates fleet readiness with partners to meet customer demand.
  • Manages purchase orders for transport vendors; permits and sets up pilot cars and escorts where required.
  • Manages, schedules, and assigns in-house or vendor drivers in direct support of 100% on-time pick-up and delivery targets.
  • Ensures drivers and/or setup technicians document damages at retrieval and return.
  • Conducts performance discussions and training with direct reports.
  • As Required: DOT compliance for in-house drivers; monitors and documents DVIR and preventative maintenance files.
  • Reviews Drivecam coaching opportunities and takes action as necessary for assigned in-house drivers.
  • Aids Drivers in change of schedule or route issues, when necessary.
  • Utilizes Net Promoter Score (NPS) feedback to communicate timely and identify process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Educational qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or 3 years of applicable experience; 2 years of experience with WillScot; 7 years of work experience.
  • Work experience: 2 years of experience managing 10 or more employees across more than one location; 2 years of experience with WillScot; 2 years of experience managing a unit or departmental P&L; MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook experience; experience working directly with customers by phone and email; strong customer service orientation, active listening, excellent oral/written communication; ability to follow direction and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; experience applying creativity to problem-solving; build sustainable relationships and trust with vendors through open, proactive communication; ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; the ability to travel throughout North America, including for extended periods of times.
  • Preferred requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred; prior experience with large format temporary tented and/or fabric structures; 3 years logistic experience; scheduling, route planning and optimization; familiarity with CRM system or other contact management platform; Salesforce experience; familiarity with DOT compliance and vehicle telematics; Hours of Service regulations, Electronic Logging Devices, permitting, etc.; experience working with outside vendors, including pricing and schedule negotiations.
