Field Installation Manager

Shore Industries · Preston, MD · 1 wk ago
On-siteProduct$75k–$95k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Field Installation Manager leads all installation and field operations for Shore Industries. This position oversees installation personnel, coordinates labor and resources, maintains quality and safety standards, manages company assets and equipment, and ensures exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the installation crew (2 full-time + seasonal), assigning daily work and holding the team to safety, quality, and timeline standards.
  • Plan and run the install calendar — large shade-structure projects, porch enclosures, and service work — coordinating labor, materials, and equipment so jobs land on schedule.
  • Be the on-site technical resource and decision-maker; resolve jobsite problems without escalating routine questions to ownership.
  • Perform quality inspections on every install and drive down callbacks and warranty issues.
  • Operate and supervise the safe use of equipment — skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, augers, excavation equipment — and keep all vehicles, trailers, and lifts maintained, inspected, and documented.
  • Manage the seasonal cycle: shade installs in spring, take-downs in fall, and a structured winter program of inventory, repair/warranty evaluation, and cleaning.
  • Enforce OSHA-compliant practices and jobsite safety standards across the crew.
  • Build the operational structure the role currently lacks — checklists, schedules, equipment logs, and repeatable processes.
  • Support strong customer relationships by delivering clean installs and handling concerns professionally on site.
  • Train, mentor, and develop installers to raise the overall capability of the team.
  • Cookordination with sales and leadership so field execution keeps pace with the rising volume sales is generating.
  • Maintain accurate records of jobs, productivity, and equipment usage.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction or installation field experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of crew leadership / supervisory experience — has genuinely run a crew, not just been the senior guy on it.
  • Strong personnel-management and leadership skills; can motivate, direct, and hold a team accountable.
  • Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices, installation methods, tools, and jobsite management.
  • Project planning and coordination ability with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable operating — or quickly learning — heavy equipment: skid steers/bobcats, excavation equipment, augers, telehandlers, forklifts.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Growth Opportunity

This role is the foundation of the operations function and offers opportunities for expansion into broader operations-management responsibility as Shore Industries grows. A Lead Installer who demonstrates ownership and delivers results can expand into roles such as running multiple crews, owning more of the P&L for field operations, and helping build the team as volume scales. This is a build-and-lead opportunity, not a maintenance seat.
