Entry-level position within the Humanities Division, Music Department. Supervised by Dr. Kelly Taylor. Average 11–15 hours per week. Available Summer, Fall, and Spring terms.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory checkouts: log instruments and equipment in and out for students and faculty.
- Organize storage rooms: keep instrument lockers and equipment storage areas clean, organized, and accessible.
- Maintain repair supplies: track inventory of replacement parts and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Inspect returned gear: check instruments and equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs after use.
- Set up rehearsals: arrange chairs, music stands, percussion equipment, and other materials needed for ensemble rehearsals.
- Perform basic maintenance: clean instruments and complete minor repairs or replace basic parts as needed.
- Maintain music stands: inspect, maintain, and complete minor repairs to music stands.
- Assist guest artists: help visiting musicians transport, organize, and set up personal or departmental equipment.
- Enforce security protocols: ensure storage rooms, equipment areas, and instrument lockers are properly secured after use.
- Report repair needs: document damaged or malfunctioning equipment and submit repair or maintenance requests to the Director of Bands.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a music course (preferred major).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and active listening abilities.
- Customer-focused with a willingness to learn new things.
Skills
- Proficiency in Excel.

Pay
$8.75 per hour
