WS - Biology Teaching Assistant (Prater) - FWS

About the Role

Support General Biology labs by preparing materials, assisting students, and ensuring proper lab procedures are followed. Ideal for students with a strong science background and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance, and wear appropriate attire
• Assist with lab setup, including making standard solutions and using lab instruments independently
• Arrive 15 minutes before lab to ensure readiness
• Assist students during lab and foster inclusive participation
• Ensure all safety regulations are followed by self and students
• Ensure labs are cleaned and equipment is returned and powered off after sessions
• Provide clerical support, proofreading, photocopying, and filing; assist on additional projects
• Grade lab reports while maintaining confidentiality
• Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines
• Communicate your skills and availability in your application letter
• Perform other duties as determined by the supervisor

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $10.50/hour
• Work Schedule: 10 hours a week
• Location: Armington 1st floor
