Writing Center Tutor

Position Summary

The AACC Writing Center is seeking tutors to staff our in-person, Zoom on Demand, and Virtual Writing Center services. Tutors assist students and members of the community in all disciplines and at any stage of the writing process.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree or higher in English or a closely related field.
• Previous college-level teaching experience in English or a closely related field and/or previous college-level Writing Center tutoring experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work effectively and tactfully with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Tech proficiency with instructional and communication platforms and apps, including Zoom, Canvas LMS, and Microsoft Office.

Benefits

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. Temporary employees are entitled to sick and safe leave benefits.
