About the role

This class is responsible for having specialized knowledge in area of assignment, researching problems, providing customer service, and maintaining work reports. This is a field customer service position and duties in this category may include operation of various complex vehicles and equipment and performing associated duties in the construction, repair and maintenance of public utilities, water mains, service lines, fire hydrants, meters and valves.

Responsibilities

  • Water Resources Trades Associate I: Assists with daily maintenance and repair of water distribution and collection lines.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate II: Has specialized knowledge in area of assignment, researches problems, and maintains work reports.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate III: Serves as a lead to lower staff and is proficient in most areas of assignment; may supervise limited staff or serve as a lead worker in the absence of the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Water Resources Trades Associate I: Grade A12(3) High School Diploma or G.E.D., Valid Driver's License, Georgia Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of employment.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate II: Grade B21(3) High School Diploma or G.E.D., Two years of related work experience, Valid Driver's License, Georgia Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of employment, Confined Space Certification within 6 months.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate III: Grade B23(3) High School Diploma or G.E.D., Four years of related work experience, Valid Driver's License from state of residency, Georgia Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of employment, Confined Space Certification within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

  • Water Resources Trades Associate I: Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate II: Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Water Resources Trades Associate III: Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
