About the role
The WR Deputy Engineering Manager supports the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) and leads sustaining engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead Sustaining Engineering department activities
- Manage the Sustaining Engineering team across LTRS enterprise
- Support systems engineering, hardware, and software engineering efforts
- Ensure personnel are properly trained and receive guidance
- Oversee Sustaining Engineering processes and procedures
- Follow SFRC standards and management policies
- Utilize MS Project products and resource management data tools
- Identify and resolve resource issues and communicate with management
- Provide leadership and guidance in engineering resource prioritization
- Handle technical issues and escalate as necessary
- Provide coaching and mentoring to department resource managers
- Maintain workflow to ensure timely product delivery
- Prepare and provide progress and status reports
Requirements
- Required Skills: Analytical, creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal, leadership
- Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in STEM, 8+ years of leadership experience, 10+ years of engineering experience
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Flexibility to work non-duty hours, frequent travel, DoD Secret clearance, valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in STEM or Engineering Management preferred
- Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience in supporting LTRS
