Wound Nurse RN

About the role

Join the Wound Healing Center as a Wound Care RN at 75 Baylor Drive, Suite 190, Bluffton SC 29910. This position offers full-time hours from 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday, excluding weekends, calls, and major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of wounds, measuring size, tracking healing, assessing infection, and implementing treatment plans including cleaning and complex dressing changes.
• Performing specialized procedures such as debridement, applying specialized dressings, and managing negative pressure wound therapy.
• Teaching patients and families how to manage wounds at home, prevent future injuries, manage infection risk, and handle equipment.
• Maintaining accurate electronic health records, updating care plans, and collaborating with physicians, vascular specialists, and other care team members.
• Performing routine foot assessments and preventive care for patients with diabetes.
• Safely operating, cleaning, and managing inventory for specialized wound care equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• 2 years of experience, required.
• Current RN license in appropriate state, required.
• Wound Certification, preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to provide care with minimal supervision.

Skills

• Wound certification.
• Expertise with advanced wound care products and techniques.
