About the role
The Treatment Nurse is responsible for overseeing all direct wound care activities, identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating skin care in residents, managing and treating specific skin disorders, coordinating weekly skin rounds, performing assessments, providing treatment for skin disorders, monitoring preventive measures, assisting in modifying treatment regimens, and educating residents and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
- Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
- Manage and treat specific skin disorders
- Cook up and track the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
- Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident
- Provide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
Requirements
- Current RN license by State required with experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population preferred
- Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are being performed is preferred but we will certify the right applicants
