Wound Care / Treatment Nurse ( LPN )
About the role
The Treatment Nurse at South Haven Health and Rehabilitation, LLC is responsible for overseeing all direct wound care activities, identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating skin care for residents, managing and treating specific skin disorders, coordinating skin rounds, assessing residents, providing treatment for skin disorders, monitoring preventive measures, assisting in modifying treatment regimens, and educating residents and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
- Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
- Manage and treat specific skin disorders
- Cook up and track the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
- Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident
- Provide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
Requirements
A current LPN license and wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are being performed are required. Certifications can be obtained for the right applicants.
Qualifications
Knowledge of wound care protocols, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills are essential.
Skills
Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required.
