Wound Care Nurse (RN/LPN)

About the Role

The ADON Wound Care Nurse is a licensed registered nurse responsible for providing specialized wound care to promote skin integrity and healing. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, they ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate care aligned with physician orders, facility policies, and regulations. They educate residents, families, and staff on wound management and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor treatments, evaluate wound progress, and report changes to physicians and families.
• Guide and support nursing staff to maintain care standards and infection control.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain clear communication, documentation, and collaborate with the care team for early intervention.

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN license, with experience in long-term or geriatric care preferred.
• Knowledge of wound care, clinical protocols, and nursing practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Computer literacy for documentation and system use.
• Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting and resident mobility assistance.
