About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to assess residents’ needs, develop individualized care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise nursing assistants and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our community, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or designee to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. You will follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer and evaluate nursing care
- Supervise nursing assistants and other personnel in delivering nursing care
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations
- Follow health, sanitary, and infection control policies
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN within the state of employment
- Current CPR certification
- Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control (e.g., CDC’s infection control modules or other qualified education) within the first week of hire
- Ability to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work scheduled hours based on position requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of RN/LPN experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or other related healthcare facility, preferably in long-term care
- Experience teaching or training adult learners preferred
- Prior experience/training in Infection Prevention and Control processes preferred
- Management experience preferred
