About the role
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with expertise in wound care to join our healthcare team at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of wounds to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Monitor wound progression, document changes, and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Collaborate with wound care specialists and physicians to optimize treatment strategies.
- Administer appropriate treatments, dressings, and therapeutic interventions for various wound types.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure effective wound management.
- Provide clear instructions and support to ensure adherence to wound care protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of wound assessments, treatment plans, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Stay current with the latest wound care techniques and treatments by participating in continuing education opportunities and professional development activities.
Requirements
- Current and valid Missouri state LPN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- One year experience in an Acute Care hospital or clinic setting.
- Previous wound care experience is a plus.
