About the role

The Wound Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at MediLodge of Marshall is responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive nursing care to residents. This position also involves supervising and guiding clinical staff in wound care management.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ostomy care for patients on units.
  • Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding wound drainage, confinement, skin protection, and the prevention of pressure necrosis.
  • Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
  • Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs.
  • Develops a patient care plan and identifies necessary equipment, materials, and resources for successful implementation.
  • Selects the stoma site on patients prior to surgery based on anatomical, activity level, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN school.
  • Valid LPN license in the state of employment.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Two years of nursing experience preferred.
