About the role
Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, ostomy management and education, as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues. Works in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan, and perform patient assessments and treatments.
Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with acute and/or chronic wounds.
- Provide ostomy management and education.
- Manage fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary staff to plan and perform patient assessments and treatments.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school in Nursing, Physical Therapy, or Occupational Therapy (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Active Georgia state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or NLC/eNLC multistate licensure, or Physical Therapist (PT), or Occupational Therapist Registered (OT).
- Maintain continuing education units (CEUs) as required by the state.
Qualifications
- 2 years of clinical experience (preferred).
- 2 years of clinical experience in wound/ostomy care and management (preferred).
- Experience working in research, data analysis, and editing collateral (preferred).
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) or Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN) certification (preferred).
