Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a life consistent with biblical character.
- Agreement with the church’s doctrinal commitments and philosophy of ministry.
- Ability to direct musicians and choir.
- Experience leading worship in a blended or traditional/contemporary church setting.
- Knowledge of audio-visual equipment (ProPresenter, Ecamm software).
- Ability to work well with volunteers and collaborate with pastoral staff and technical teams.
- Experience working with choirs and/or orchestras/bands is highly desired.
- Musical education or significant experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of the worship ministry.
- Plan and lead worship services for Sunday mornings, and Sunday evenings (seasonal).
- Select songs and hymns that are theologically sound, Christ-centered, and appropriate for congregational singing.
- Rehearse with the choir (Wednesday nights) and instrumentalists (Sunday mornings).
- Partner closely with the sound and media team to produce high-quality, seamless services.
- Maintain a high standard of musical excellence that encourages congregational participation, and points people to God.
- Be willing to serve in other capacities as able for the building up of the body.
- Love the church and all the people who make it up.
Pay
The salary for this part-time position is $12,000-$15,000 per year, depending on experience.
