Worship Leader, Asheville Campus

Location: Asheville, NC • Full time, 30 hours per week • Reports to: Campus Pastor

Seacoast Worship exists to create music and experiences that reveal the heart of God and lead others into his presence. In doing so, we support the mission of Seacoast Church to help others Find God, Grow their Faith, Discover their Purpose, and Make a Difference. The Campus Worship Leader provides passionate leadership for our worship team to create an authentic worship experience.

Responsibilities

• Bring inspiration to the vision of Seacoast Worship at your campus.
• Lead and develop a worship and production team of Dream Team (volunteers) and occasionally employees, inspiring them to create dynamic worship experiences, advance the mission of Seacoast, and provide accessible avenues of spiritual growth.
• Serve as the primary worship leader, creating face-to-face moments with God through worship and striving to make every weekend experience one that people want to repeat.
• Drive the weekend worship experience on the platform with enthusiasm and authentic, expressive worship.
• Demonstrate motivation in self-improvement, continually growing spiritually and in craft.
• Plan and build weekly sets in Planning Center 4-5 weeks in advance, providing song keys at least two weeks ahead and ensuring all resources (ISO Tracks, chord/number charts, band notes, tutorials) are available for the team.
• Lead worship for weekend experiences, First Wednesday services, and special events that reflect Seacoast culture and the desired worship experience.
• Manage set up and tear down for the worship area (or campus if applicable), ensuring the stage is clean and organized for each service or event.
• Oversee all AVL systems and production areas for your campus.
• Schedule and lead mid-week run-throughs, as well as the entire weekend services routine (including call times, start times, service expectations, and service times).
• Knowledge of Ableton: Program, build, edit, and troubleshoot Ableton sessions for services and events.
• Knowledge of ProPresenter: Program projection assets for main and environmental screens, ensuring lyrics, songs, backgrounds, and slides are loaded and editable. Create campus-specific announcement slides.
• Program lighting cues within lighting software to align with Central Assets and focus on service dynamics.
• Knowledge of digital audio consoles (e.g., Allen & Heath SQ-7/Avantis, Behringer X32): Make patching/routing changes, basic gain staging, EQ and compression adjustments, and mix a full band with a musical ear for transitions.
• Work with the central Technology Team as "smart hands" onsite to troubleshoot basic tech issues.
• Perform hands-on tasks such as working on a ladder to re-focus lighting fixtures, troubleshoot projectors, and replace lamps/filters.
• Lead production team meetings before each weekend service to discuss service flow and transitions with the Campus Pastor, production, and worship teams.
• Lead worship for special Seacoast events, including Christmas and Easter services, conferences, All-Staff meetings, weddings, funerals, and other outside events as margin allows.
• Meet consistently with the Campus Pastor for mentoring and development.
• Attend weekly staff meetings with campus staff and All-Staff meetings.
• Connect monthly with the Central Worship Pastor.
• Invest in developing the worship team through community and spiritual growth.
• Recruit and develop team members continuously.
• Utilize Microsoft Teams for resources and communication.
• Organize and prepare for mid-week run-throughs to set high standards and provide constructive feedback for team improvement.
• Memorize music to eliminate clutter on the platform (e.g., music stands).
• Organize final run-throughs focusing on dynamics, transitions, flow, and start/end times.
• Attend weekly meetings with all Campus Worship Leaders and the Central Worship Pastor.
• Attend weekly Weekend Debrief meetings with Campus Worship Leaders and Campus Pastors.
• Lead the campus with comprehensive knowledge of Planning Center for communication and scheduling.
• Schedule worship and production teams at least one month in advance for services and events.
• Create service flows for each service/event to reflect all elements and transitions.
• Partner with the Campus Pastor to create and steward a worship team budget aligned with the annual budget.
• Monitor musician hours and approve all hours each pay period in Paycom or report independent contractor hours through Ramp.
• Submit the Campus Worship Leader Checklist weekly and monthly as applicable.

Requirements

• Christ follower (as a religious organization, Seacoast Church aligns hiring decisions with our faith and beliefs).
• Calling to create authentic worship experiences.
• Able to lead worship from an instrument.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience leading a worship team.
• Exceptional musical and vocal talent.
• Comfortable with public speaking.
• Able to engage in healthy conflict and initiate hard conversations.
• Demonstrates a spiritual gift to serve others in a team environment.
• Ability to recruit, lead, and train musicians, worship leaders, production volunteers, and vocalists.
• A critical ear and the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback.
