Job Title: Spanish & Italian Honor Society Faculty Advisor Reports To: Principal Extra Duty/Stipend *Per DEA Contract Position Overview Faculty Advisors to lead Derby High School's World Language Honor Societies (Spanish and Italian). This role involves guiding high-achieving language students, fostering a deep appreciation for Hispanic and Italian cultures, and overseeing community service and academic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee Student Selection: Review student academic records to ensure candidates meet GPA and character requirements for national or local chapter induction.Coordinate Inductions: Organize and execute the annual formal induction ceremony for new members.Mentor Student Leadership: Meet regularly with the student executive board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) to plan calendar events.Supervise Activities: Guide student members in planning cultural events, community service projects, and peer tutoring programs.Manage Compliance: Maintain active affiliation with the national parent organizations (such as the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica and Società Onoraria Italica) and manage the chapter's budget.Other Duties as needed for a successful/active chapter
