World History Adjunct
About the role
This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person classes on the Bremerton campus, and distance classes as needed.
- Teach college-level courses in accordance with the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines.
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
- May include evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses.
- Punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in History from an accredited College or University, Previous teaching experience, College-level teaching experience, Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Desired Qualifications: Effective teaching and imparting excitement and enthusiasm in teaching courses, Commitment to teaching students with little or no background, Success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, Success incorporating accessibility and special needs accommodations via course materials and classroom activities, Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and build rapport with colleagues, Staff, and students as a part of an educational team, Incorporate the use of technology in the delivery of course content and services, Appreciation of diversity and the benefits of commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in History from an accredited College or University.
- Previous teaching experience.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Pay
Salary is a range based on per quarter.
Schedule
This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience.
Conditions of Employment
- Background check including criminal record history.
- Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form.
- Reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring.
- Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
