Workshop Host: Student Discovery Labs Flourish Schools Traveling role: Apache Junction, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Buckeye, and Maricopa area, AZ | $30/hour About The Role Flourish Schools is a private school network in the greater Phoenix area built around project-based learning and student ownership. We introduce families to Flourish through pop-up workshops for kids, paired with open houses for parents. We need one Workshop Host to run these events at host sites across the Valley. This is not a teaching job. You won't write lessons or grade anything. We hand you a proven workshop playbook. Your job is to bring it to life so well that kids walk out begging their parents to enroll. If you've been a camp counselor, Young Life leader, orientation leader, or the person everyone wanted in charge of the game, we want to talk to you. Current Workshop Themes Culinary Arts: kids explore the chemistry hiding in ice cream, then become the chef, customizing flavors and churning their own batch Forensic Science: kids are sworn in as junior investigators, lifting fingerprints and analyzing evidence to crack a staged classroom "crime" Structural Engineering: kids learn how engineers distribute weight, then design, build, and test their own bridge against the class's toughest challenge Each event runs 60 to 90 minutes with the kids, followed by a 30-minute session with parents about Flourish. $30 - $30 an hour What success looks like Every kid feels seen. You know every name within the first few minutes. Every kid is in it. No one is on the sidelines. Every kid finishes with something real to show their parents and a story they can't wait to tell on the drive home. Parents leave wanting to learn more about enrolling. What you'll do Run the playbook. Follow the workshop plan closely and deliver it with your own energy. Set the stage. Buy workshop supplies, arrive early, and prepare the space so it's ready when the first kid walks in. Partner with the site. Coordinate with each host site's coordinator on setup, timing, and logistics. Welcome families. Greet parents at the door and make every family feel like they're in the right place. Make the pitch. Close each event by telling parents what Flourish is and why it's worth a closer look. Keep us posted. Share quick updates with the Flourish team on how each event went. Who you are You love kids. You light up around them, and they can tell. You bring big energy. Think mascot, camp counselor, or Wienermobile driver. You make ordinary moments feel like an event. You're organized. Supplies bought, room set, timeline hit, nothing forgotten. You run on your own. You'll be solo at sites across the Valley. You solve problems without waiting for someone to tell you how. You're articulate. You can hold a room of 8-year-olds and then turn around and speak confidently to their parents. Requirements Bachelor's degree (recent grads strongly encouraged to apply) Experience leading groups of kids: camp counselor, Young Life or youth ministry leader, coach, tutor, after-school program, or similar Reliable transportation and a willingness to drive across the Valley. Some sites are over an hour apart. Availability for evenings (6p starts) and weekends (mornings and afternoons) Good to know $30/hour to start, roughly 84 hours of event time across the initial run Ongoing role, running from early fall workshops through open houses starting in late October Strong hosts will be first in line as we build our teams for next year We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
