Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality work readiness content that improves the soft and hard skills of program participants.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual job readiness and other program-related workshops for customers, clients, and participants.
  • Work with project leadership to evaluate the success of job readiness and other program-related workshops.
  • Participate in workshop content development, recommend workshop content improvements, and coordinate workshops with program and community partners.
  • Deliver and participate in both on and off-site program orientations.
  • Manage workshop sign-up and sign-in process. Track workshop attendance. Create monthly workshop calendar.
  • Facilitates in-person and virtual job readiness and other program-related workshops for customers, clients, and participants to include orientation
  • Manages workshop sign-up and sign-in process and tracks attendance
  • Recommend workshop content, including improvements and participates in workshop content development
  • Affirms participant competencies, work history, educational attainment, skills and abilities; identifies challenges to finding employment and prompts them to find solutions
  • Maintains information about area resources and employers
  • Facilitates customer access to training, education, and to employment services, as well as job-specific information; provide case management to customers at the appropriate level
  • Provides information to participants on available training and/or jobs that will lead to advancement
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Related Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required. Previous experience with workforce development, vocational skills training programs, adult basic education, or working closely with adult learners is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to empathize with and provide motivational support to customers, clients, and participants. Must be able to effectively work with a variety of program and community stakeholders. Highly organized with keen attention to detail. Adept at working independently and with diverse teams. Ability to adapt to change and manage competing demands; Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.

Requirements

  • Must have appropriate and valid state driver’s license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.
  • Must successfully pass a background screening process, including, but not limited to, state, local, and funder criminal background check requirements.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Physical Demands: The environment is an open office/classroom type facility that is reasonably clean and comfortable. The incumbent is in a non-confined setting in which he/she is free to move about. The position requires that the incumbent spend time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

About Our Workforce Programs

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers. Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities. We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
