About the role
The Houlne Center houses applied learning labs that mimic the equipment and facilities used in today’s and tomorrow’s manufacturing technology, industrial technology, and construction technology employer’s factory floors and job sites. The Center is the capstone of an increasingly comprehensive ecosystem of technology-based professional education founded upon the alliance of Missouri Western State University and North Central Missouri College, with partners at the Saint Joseph School District and Hillyard Technical Center.
Responsibilities
- Be present for all scheduled training or classroom hours
- Be available for student inquiries via email or telephone and respond in a timely and professional manner
- Present the subject matter curriculum in its entirety within the time frame allotted
- Instruct the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus, catalog, or other published outline of the program content
- Show respect to all students and participants at all times
- Dress in a business casual and professional manner at all times
- Work creatively in all assigned programs to keep students engaged to assist in increasing student retention and success
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years industry specific experience, or 5+ years of industry experience
- Proficiency in the area of study, including proof of certifications and qualifications where applicable
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years industry specific experience, or 5+ years of industry experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, Teaching experience
Skills
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
- The ability to confidently present subject matter knowledge and feel comfortable presenting in front of groups of people
- The ability to relate curriculum with appropriate real-world experience
- Comfortable using a laptop with Microsoft and Google applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive and Google Docs
