About the role
The specialist will work directly with customers to provide guidance in developing the fastest and most effective path to self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities
- Register customers in WorkinTexas (WIT) and provide information on all available Workforce services.
- Refer customers to jobs based on their experience and skills.
- Contact employers to assist with hiring needs.
- Enter job orders into WorkinTexas on behalf of employers and send job notifications to customers.
- Provide basic unemployment information to individuals seeking to file for benefits.
- Facilitate the Reemployment Service (RESEA) Orientation and ensure RESEA customer work applications are correctly entered into WIT.
- Ensure all required services are entered in WIT for all customers.
- Assist customers in the resource room with completing WIT applications, resumes, and job searches using resource room computers.
- Facilitate workshops.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to understand instructions without constant supervision.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with people from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
- Must have at least a Class C Driver’s License.
