Location: Claycomo, MO (Onsite) – Morning Shift – Long-Term Contract (W2) – Duration: 1 year – Pay: Market Rate

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Plant Representative II to serve as the primary Workers' Compensation Claims Handler at a manufacturing facility in Claycomo, Missouri. This onsite role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, effective claim management, and cost-containment strategies while ensuring compliance with Missouri workers' compensation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process complex workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution.
  • Investigate claims, gather relevant information, and determine claim exposure.
  • Handle a full caseload, including claims with increased severity and complexity.
  • Develop and execute action plans to achieve timely and cost-effective claim outcomes.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves throughout the life of each claim.
  • Calculate and issue benefit payments while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit required state filings within statutory deadlines.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, investigators, medical providers, and other vendors as needed.
  • Utilize cost-containment strategies and vendor partnerships to reduce claim costs.
  • Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund recoveries, and Social Security/Medicare offsets.
  • Report applicable claims to excess insurance carriers.
  • Communicate claim status and updates effectively with claimants and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and coding within claim management systems.
  • Escalate complex issues to management as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of Missouri Workers' Compensation Claims Adjusting experience.
  • Experience handling Workers' Compensation Lost Time claims.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation regulations, claims investigations, and settlement processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Experience handling high-severity or complex workers' compensation claims (preferred).
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments (preferred).

Work Environment

  • Fully onsite position at a manufacturing facility in Claycomo, Missouri.
  • Primarily office-based within a plant setting.
