About the role

MGC is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Workers' Compensation team in Alexandria, VA. Ideal candidates will have 5-7 years of practice experience in workers' compensation defense and a portable book of business.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Virginia and DC
• Maryland license also preferred
• 5-7 years of practice experience in workers' compensation defense
• Portable book of business

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants

Pay

The annualized salary range for this position is $120,000-$220,000. Actual pay will be determined based on total and relevant experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
