Location: Overland Park, Kansas Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join a growing Workers' Compensation practice in their Kansas office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2-5 years of Workers' Compensation experience who is looking to build their litigation skills, develop strong client relationships, and grow their legal career in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation, legal research, negotiation, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple matters independently. Key Responsibilities Handle Workers' Compensation matters from inception through resolution. Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, and other litigation proceedings. Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law. Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents. Advise clients regarding Workers' Compensation claims and litigation strategy. Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' interests. Manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively. Work collaboratively with attorneys and other legal professionals. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. 2-5 years of Workers' Compensation Defense experience. Active Kansas Bar admission required. Active Missouri Bar admission required, or ability to obtain admission promptly. Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
