About the role
These openings are for Workers' Compensation Defense attorneys representing employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured entities in California and Nevada. The roles involve defending WC claims before the WCAB, handling litigation, managing caseloads, and working in remote, hybrid, or on‑site settings.
Responsibilities
- Defend Workers' Compensation claims on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and self‑insured entities.
- Represent clients in WCAB hearings, litigation, and settlement negotiations.
- Manage an extensive caseload, including tracking billable hour targets (e.g., 200+ hours monthly for associate roles).
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and advocacy documents.
- Handle case management, client communication, and supervision of junior staff where applicable.
- Work independently or with supervision to achieve case resolutions.
Requirements
- Admission to the California State Bar (Nevada Bar admission considered for one position).
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense or civil litigation with interest to transition.
- Ability to manage a full caseload and meet billable hour expectations where applicable.
- Comfortable operating in remote, hybrid, or on‑site work environments.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.

- Prior litigation experience (roles are not suitable for attorneys without any prior litigation experience).
- Interest in defending employer‑side workers' compensation claims (not applicant‑side).
