Job Summary: We are seeking a Workday Developer with broad expertise across Workday configuration, reporting, calculated fields, business process design, and Workday Extend application development. The role spans technical configuration, custom report design, integration support, and lightweight application extension work, helping HR, finance, and IT stakeholders get more value from the Workday platform. The ideal candidate combines strong Workday platform knowledge with practical engineering discipline and the ability to translate business requirements into clean, maintainable Workday configurations. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production. Key Responsibilities Design and develop complex calculated fields, custom reports, and advanced reports using the Workday report writerBuild composite reports, matrix reports, and dashboards supporting business decision-makingConfigure and maintain business processes, condition rules, and approval routing across HCM and FinanceDevelop Workday Extend applications and PRISM analytics where appropriate, packaging custom logic in supported platform extensions rather than fragile customizations that complicate future upgradesBuild report-as-a-service integrations and support data export needs for downstream systemsConfigure security domains, role-based security, and segment-based security across complex tenantsPartner with HR, payroll, and finance stakeholders to translate requirements into Workday configurationsDevelop and maintain documentation for business processes, calculated fields, and security modelsSupport Workday tenant refreshes, regression testing cycles, and platform release adoption, validating configuration and reports against expected behavior before each move into productionTroubleshoot configuration and report issues in production tenants, working closely with functional teams to isolate root causes, propose remediation, and prevent recurrence through configuration improvementsCollaborate closely with integration developers on report-driven data flows, gathering requirements, aligning on technical approach, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both functional needs and broader engineering and operational standardsProvide guidance on Workday best practices and configuration design patternsParticipate in Workday community forums, brainstorms, and product feedback channels, contributing field perspective and bringing back valuable insights and emerging best practices to the broader teamStay current with Workday releases and platform innovations, regularly review release notes and community discussions, and translate noteworthy advances into concrete recommendations and adoption proposals for the team Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldFive or more years of Workday technical experienceDeep expertise in Workday report writer including advanced and composite reportsStrong proficiency with calculated fields across HCM and FinanceHands-on experience configuring business processes and condition rulesStrong understanding of Workday security frameworkExperience with PRISM Analytics or Workday ExtendFamiliarity with Workday tenant management and release processStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications Workday Pro certificationsExperience with Workday Extend application developmentFamiliarity with PRISM data ingestion and modelingExposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deploymentsExperience supporting Workday Payroll or Workday Financials How To Apply Would you like to know more about this opportunity?
