Workday Architect

About the role

TEKsystems is seeking an Expert-level Workday Architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise-scale Workday solutions across HCM, Financials, and related modules. This individual will serve as the principal techno-functional advisor for Workday-related strategic initiatives, partnering closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into cohesive, scalable, and well-governed Workday solutions.

Responsibilities

• Defining Workday architecture strategies and target-state roadmaps
• Establishing integration patterns and governance standards
• Overseeing system and solution design for complex Workday environments
• Driving architecture decisions across business processes, data, integration, and cloud infrastructure
• Leading modernization and transformation programs
• Guiding the evolution of legacy configurations
• Ensuring Workday solutions are performant, resilient, secure, and aligned to enterprise standards
• Designing enterprise-scale Workday and business application solutions
• Defining architecture strategy, future-state roadmaps, and modernization plans
• Leading transformation initiatives involving cloud adoption, legacy modernization, and platform consolidation
• Developing architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance processes
• Driving technology decisions across applications, integrations, infrastructure, data, security, and cloud environments
• Supporting implementation teams throughout delivery to ensure architectural alignment
• Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending strategic investments
• Facilitating architecture review boards and technical governance sessions
• Mentoring architects, engineers, and technical leaders
• Partnering with IT and business leadership on enterprise technology strategy and transformation initiatives
• Modernized and scalable business capabilities and technology platforms
• Well-governed end-to-end architecture aligned to enterprise strategy

Qualifications

• Executive communication skills – ability to translate technical complexity into business language for senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence without direct authority across cross-functional teams
• Experience facilitating architecture review boards and design governance forums
• Strategic roadmap development and technology investment planning experience
• Strong documentation and architecture diagramming skills
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving decisions in fast-moving environments
• Proven track record of reducing technical debt and architectural risk in large enterprise environments
• Strong business acumen and consulting mindset
