About the role
The Program Specialist oversees work service programs at Witco's Caldwell Location, focusing on providing meaningful work experiences and personal growth opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and implements activities for participating individuals of the workshop, matching skills with available production work
- Supervises shop staff and coordinates the implementation of services ensuring the best vocational outcomes to participants
- Reviews program caseload to prioritize workload, assigns individuals to specific tasks, and demonstrates job duties to disabled individuals
- Observes workers performing tasks to ensure understanding of job duties, oversees time studies to monitor and track participant progress and outcomes, and completes annual review meetings with State Program Monitors
- Maintains a safe and effective shop environment for participants and staff, as defined in policies and procedures, and in conformance with CARF standards, State and Federal regulations (OSHA)
Qualifications
- Familiarity with vocational workshops, supported employment, and integrated employment practices is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in human services field, mental health, social services, or related field
- 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience
- Community Service & Case Management Experience
