Work Product Support Specialist (KCM)
About the Role
The Work Product Support Specialist is the Firm's "document expert," responsible for creating, editing, and formatting Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. The Specialist also creates and edits PDFs, converts them to other formats, and handles requests from attorneys and staff through a ticketing system. Work is prioritized based on deadlines, and all completed work undergoes proofreading and quality checks.
The Work Product Support team operates extended hours: 7:00 AM to Midnight (Monday-Thursday), 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Friday), 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Saturday), and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Sunday). Hours and shifts are subject to change with notice based on business needs, and some evenings and weekends may be required.
Responsibilities
Document Production (90%)
- Create, edit, format, and proofread complex legal documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Manipulate PDFs (OCR, reduce size, redact, etc.).
- Create fillable forms.
- Convert PDFs to Word or Excel documents; format and proofread for accuracy.
- Transcribe digital dictation; format and proofread for accuracy.
- Answer the WPS telephone line and provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for document issues.
- Compare documents and track document changes.
- Create electronic closing binders.
- Create tables of authority.
- Design, create, and edit forms and templates.
- Create mail merges.
- Occasionally use specialty applications.
General and Administrative (10%)
- Monitor workflow system for incoming requests.
- Create tasks, fill in request information, communicate with requesters, and track work time through task management.
- Answer the WPS telephone line when working in-office.
- Proofread completed work for accuracy, return to requesters, and close tickets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years' word processing experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Efficient typing skills.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or other English communications field strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years' legal experience preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role may require additional hours to complete work in a fast-paced environment.
The physical demands include:
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
