Work Conditioning Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, engaging, and motivational Work Conditioning Specialist to deliver fitness and work conditioning sessions for participants in an industrial workforce training program. This flexible, part-time opportunity is ideal for a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, or wellness professional seeking to make an impact!

Responsibilities

  • Lead small group fitness and work conditioning sessions for program participants
  • Facilitate an introductory session covering general health and wellness topics, including hydration, ergonomics, safety, and conditioning expectations
  • Conduct six (6) 90-minute physical training sessions over a three-week period, reinforcing ergonomic principles and physical demands relevant to industrial work
  • Deliver sessions that include warm-up, full-body conditioning, stretching, and education on wellness topics such as hydration, nutrition, sleep, stress, and self-care
  • Engage participants with positive energy and clear instruction while ensuring safe movement and proper technique
  • Coordinate with ProgressiveHealth leadership to maintain program consistency and quality
  • Provide updates and feedback regarding participant engagement and class performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule

Training sessions follow a recurring three-week rotation at the following times (schedule subject to change with advance notice):

  • Week 1 Monday: Orientation, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
  • Week 1 Tuesday: Conditioning, 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Week 2 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Week 3 Tuesday, Wednesday: 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM

Additional training cycles may occur throughout the year; scheduling flexibility is preferred.

Qualifications

  • A background in fitness, wellness, physical training, or class instruction is highly preferred
  • Experience leading group fitness classes or personal training sessions
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
  • The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the entire assigned shift
  • A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
