Trainer and Maintainer Specialist

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Trainer and Maintainer Specialist to join our vehicle sustainment team in Fort Hood, Texas. The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Develop course curriculum, training modules, and instructional materials for technical training programs.
  • Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Assess needs to determine training material content.
  • Keep abreast of information technology training needs, trends, methods, new materials, and techniques.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Training personnel must have successfully completed a legacy or current TRADOC-approved Army Instructor training course (e.g., Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC), Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS), Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, or TRADOC equivalent). Alternatively, certification through a public/private civilian program or a documented contractor certification program (subject to Government pre-approval) is acceptable.
  • Instructors certified for Wrecker training must hold a current CLASS A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Wrecker Instructors must also have either three years of Wrecker experience or one of the following certifications:
    • Skill Identifier of Hotel 8 (H8) from the Army.
    • Military Occupational Specialty 3536 (MOS 3536).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the work location.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting.
  • Up to 25% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel to various U.S. or OCONUS locations.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a keyboard for extended periods.
