Responsibilities
- Works from blueprints, schedules, shop orders, specification sheets, process instructions, and test reviews production schedules for specific periods.
- Arranges for parts, materials, supplies, tooling, gauges, and other equipment to meet production requirements.
- Requisitions and stores materials as needed.
- Passes Kanban cards to producing departments per defined processes.
- Accumulates and moves items between storage areas and work cells.
- Fills out and submits requisitions, move tickets, finished goods tickets, and scrap tickets.
- Selects, verifies, and identifies the quantity of materials; records and/or calls attention to shortages, possible rejected or damaged items.
- Sets up work cell and makes necessary adjustments of tools, gauges, and equipment.
- Makes operational checks as required and monitors work visually to maintain quality standards.
- Notifies supervisor of nonconformance and/or operating issues.
- Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning, oiling, inspecting, and minor adjustments) on equipment in the work cell.
- Trains new and existing employees on how to effectively work within the department, instructing them in all facets of the work cell.
- Follows safety rules and keeps the work cell area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Uses a computer to check the status of a customer’s order and the status of a shop order.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma.
- Experience with light mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, riveters, presses, and crimping tools.
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
Pay
Wage Range: $19.02 - $22.84 per hour.
