Work Based Learning Program Logistics Specialist

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This entry-level position is part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP), a 12-month work and training program in our Oregon facilities. Trainees will participate in the program between June and December of 2026.

Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future for these positions. Eligible candidates must have work authorization without employer intervention to be considered. A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who need to relocate for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7, including participation in primary responder rotation and after-hours support
• Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
• Tolerance for working in non-climate-controlled environments with temperature fluctuations

Responsibilities

• Vendor and team communication, including data entry, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving inquiries from cross-functional teams
• Ensure all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated, and ready for processing
• Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials
• Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations
• Maintain precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
• Travel within the regional work area using a personal vehicle
• Successfully complete the 12-month Work Based Learning Program training curriculum, including all required safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones
• Review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels
• Create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle, tracking inventory location, movement, age, and returns
• Work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately
• Collaborate with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements
• Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand business requirements
• Understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and operate powered equipment (e.g., forklift or cherry picker)
• Work shift work that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations

Preferred Qualifications

• STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
• Knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, and inventory management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay

Starting pay ranges from $21.00 to $37.00 USD hourly, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
