Work Based Learning Program Logistics Specialist

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This entry-level Logistics Specialist position is part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP), a 12-month work and training program in our Oregon facilities. Trainees will participate in the program between June and December of 2026, reporting to a site location.

Responsibilities

• Vendor and team communication including data entry, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving inquiries from cross-functional teams
• Ensure that all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated, and ready for processing
• Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials
• Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations
• Maintain precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
• Travel within the regional work area using a personal vehicle
• Successfully complete the 12-month Work Based Learning Program training curriculum, including all required safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones
• Review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels for build and repair activities
• Create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle, tracking inventory location, movement, age, and returns
• Work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians, Data Center Engineers, Procurement, and Hardware Engineering to fulfill parts quickly and accurately
• Interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements
• Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and align on business requirements
• Adhere to strict safety standards and maintain high-quality work in a warehouse or data center environment
• Operate powered equipment such as forklifts or cherry pickers
• Work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and reacting quickly to changing needs
• Work shift work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7, including after-hours support and primary responder rotation
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Work in cramped, elevated, noisy, non-climate-controlled, or temperature-variable environments
• Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel within the regional work area
• Must have work authorization without employer intervention (Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future for these positions)
• For positions in Oregon (OR) and Ohio (OH): U.S. citizenship required for logical access to the AWS GovCloud region

Preferred Qualifications

• STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
• Knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, and inventory management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay

Starting pay for this position ranges from $21.00 to $37.00 USD hourly, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Final starting pay will be determined based on these factors.

• USA, OR, Hermiston: $21.00 - $37.00 USD hourly
• USA, OR, Umatilla: $21.00 - $37.00 USD hourly
• USA, WA, Attalia: $21.00 - $37.00 USD hourly
