Woodworking (Sculptural Arts) Teacher

Essential Job Duties

  • Experience safely managing a woodshop and teaching safety skills to children.
  • Teaching about the properties of wood.
  • Care and use of hand tools such as carving knives.
  • Shaping, smoothing, and finishing surfaces.
  • Forming vessels, sculptures, and simple tools such as spoons and knives from wood.
  • Additional sculptural skills such as clay modeling, stone carving, and simple metal work are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience safely managing a woodshop and teaching safety skills to children.
  • Program hours are between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, though teaching hours may vary.

Employment Details

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
